GRETNA v. ELGIN CITY MATCH REPORT

Gretna too much for Elgin to handle,
David Bingham and Deucher scoring making a comfortable
3:0 victory.
Gretna's
winger Ryan Baldacchino and ex-Caley Thistle front man
Bingham were too much to handle for Elgin.
The
first goal for Gretna was a cracking header from Bingham
in the 21st minute.
Mathiesons safe hands prevented the equilsier 10 minutes
later with a great save from Adam Nelsons eight yard drive.
In the 37th minute Gretna had a penalty when Elgin keeper
Renton pulled down Bryan Gilfillan, which bingham should
of scored but fired wide instead.
Three
minutes later Bingham knocked in a Ryan Baldacchino corner
from close range to put the home team two up.
After
the break Kenny Deuchar headed home from, once again Ryan
Baldacchino set up. The Elgin goal was being battered
with shots but the Elgin keeper done a sound job.
In the dying minutes the keeper pulled off two spectacular
saves, palming a fierce drive from substitute Brian Wake
round the post and beating away an eight yard volley from
Gretna defender David Irons.
